Oklahoma First Responder Wellness Division
I began working as a State of Oklahoma employee through the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in Guymon. I continued as a state employee and began my law enforcement career with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole. While in Guymon, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in 2009. Subsequently, I went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Criminology from Oklahoma City University where I was a member of Alpha Phi Sigma National Honor Society. Originating from Mangum, Oklahoma, I now serve as a Senior Agent with the Oklahoma ABLE Commission and reside in Edmond with my two dogs, Boomer and Jax.
In 2024, I completed Critical Incident Stress Management training to become a peer for ABLE Commission. I have also received training in suicide prevention, intervention and postvention. In 2020, I Iost a best friend and fellow law enforcement officer, my struggles coping and realizing it is okay to not be okay have pushed me to seek help.
As I continue to work on myself daily, I have developed a passion to help others in need. We all have stressors in our home lives and at work that affect everyone differently and, in my case, it not only affected my mental health, but my physical health. I work daily to be a better version of myself, and I know I could not do it alone without help. Calling for backup was the best thing I could do for myself.
